Better Leisure Sessions

Better swimming picture

As part of the Autism Cornwall Strategy St Austell Leisure Centre are continuing to work in partnership with Special Olympics Cornwall to offer learning disability and autism friendly swim sessions on the last Saturday of every month from 4pm - 5pm.

St Austell Leisure Centre said 'We are delighted to be able to offer the swim sessions particularly as part of the Autism Cornwall Strategy swimming was identified as the most popular activity.
The sessions are part of a swim for all session and we encourage those with a learning disability and autism to come along with friends and family to enjoy a splash around in the pool!  There is no need to book, sessions are priced at just £2 per person and normal admission rules apply.'

Steve Hillman - Special Olympics Cornwall said ' I am very pleased that GLL will be continuing to offer this important session for people with learning disabilities and autism. For many of the families that have attended over the past few years it is the only opportunity they get to swim together. It is hoped that other GLL centres will also provide the same session. Thank you GLL'

Soft play GLL

Soft Play

As part of their commitment to supporting the Cornwall Austism Strategy and in response to customer feedback St Austell Leisure Centre are launching Autism friendly soft play sessions.
The sessions will take place from 9am -10am on a Saturday morning and will offer exclusive use of the monster themed soft play facility for children with autism and their families.  The sessions will be much quieter than a regular session and will be a great chance for families to get together, have fun and share experiences.
The sessions will start from Saturday 23rd November and normal admission prices apply.
If you are attending please provide us any feedback that would help make these sessions even more autism friendly.
