Major New Opportunity for Grassroots Sport
Government Sports Strategy Consultation

Sport faces a major review as the Sports Minister Tracey Couch MP, recently announced the government's consultation paper for sport, with an intention to make sport an integral part of our everyday lives.

This is a timely opportunity to take a fresh look at what currently works and to bring fresh and innovative thinking about sport, to give everyone whatever their ability the chance to take part.  The broad definition of sport includes physical activity and encourages thinking about sport as a means to an end and not just necessarily an end in itself.  Sport is key to many areas of our lives and joining up effectively across the voluntary sector, government, health, education and the economy will be key to the success of the new strategy the consultation suggests.

If you have a view or would just like to be involved in the conversation why not join interested colleagues from across the sectors to consider the consultation paper and ensure that we offer some constructive views on what is important for sport in Cornwall.

If you would like to attend please email Andrew Pidgeon at Cornwall Sports Partnership on to register your interest.

I would encourage everyone whether you can attend the meeting or not to respond to the consultation and make your views known. The consultation is open until Friday 2nd October 2015 and the consultation paper can be found here.
