16-18 and interested in working in sport? Coach Makers Programme from 2nd Chance could be for you!

2nd Chance

Get fit, focused and ready for work!

On this unique, full-time, 9 month programme,students will be gaining qualifications, skills, advice and career guidance from experienced Sport tutors and professionals. Students experience real life sport-based work placements. You could be delivering sport sessions across the city, assisting with coaching in local Primary Schools, running
sports festivals in the community, discovering how to run a community sports project, or even help out on match days with local clubs.

Qualifications you will achieve:
1st4Sport Level 2 NVQ Certificate In Activity Leadership
1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Principles of Coaching Sport
1st4Sport Level 2 Award in Multi-Skills Development in Sport
Emergency Frist Aid
Functional Skills English Level 1/2
Functional Skills Maths Level 1/2

Throughout the year you will also attend the following workshops:
Equity in Coaching
Safeguarding Children and Young People
Coaching Disabilities
Managing Challenging Behaviour
Fundamentals of Movement
Employability skills
Fitness sessions

What do I do afterwards?
On completion of the course you will have the chance to apply for 5 paid Apprenticeship placements or progress to a Level 3 programme. However, ALL applicants will be supported into other opportunities.

There are 20 places available. No formal qualifications are required, but if you have the right attitude and are
willing to learn, we welcome your application. Our aim is to raise aspiration and inspire success.
