Coronavirus, an update from Active Cornwall

2014 Sainsbury's Cornwall School Games - Wet Weather Statement

Sainsbury's Cornwall School Games

It is with great regret that we have to send out this statement but with a very wet forecast, thunderstorms due tomorrow and obvious associated risks to competitors we have had to cancel all the outdoor sports where we can't move them to an indoor venue.

This means that the following are cancelled and will not take place tomorrow:

• All the Beach Sports:
o Surfing
o Bodyboarding
o Beach Volleyball
• Super 8s - Secondary Athletics
• Quad Kids - Primary Athletics
• Rugby 7s - Secondary
• Tag Rugby - Primary
• Grass Track Cycling
• Disability Football
• Golf Extreme - Secondary
• Tri Golf - Primary
• In2 Hockey - Primary
• Hockey - Secondary

The Opening Ceremony and Registration will still go ahead at Richard Lander School with the same transport arrangements to other venues in and around Truro for all the other sports. We have managed to get hold of as many local indoor facilities as possible.

We will try and reschedule the cancelled events and further information to follow next week.

If you have any questions in the first instance please contact your School Games Organiser.

Please make sure you and your competitors arrive with wet weather clothes.
