Chuck It! Whack It! Leg It! - Rounders lands in Cornwall

Come along to free Rounders sessions at Cornwall College, Camborne, Dracaena Centre Falmouth or Kenwyn Hill Playing Field, Truro. It's an initiative backed by Cornwall Sports Partnership as part of its vision to make sport and physical activity apart of everyday life - and by Rounders England.

Lewis Sanders, Project Coordinator for Cornwall Sports Partnership says: "Rounders is a fantastic sport to play whatever your age. It can be enjoyed by everyone from the complete beginner to the seasoned pro. It's also a simple way for families to keep fit - and also a great way for stressed workers to unwind. When you ask people about Rounders it brings a smile, revisiting memories of a fun, team sport they played at school. We're keen to get people involved in Rounders this summer."

The free sessions take place on Mondays at 6:30pm at The Dracaena Centre in Falmouth (apart from Bank Holiday Monday), Tuesdays at 6:30pm at Kenwyn Hill Playing Field in Truro and Thursdays at 6:30pm at Cornwall College in Camborne until the end of September 2015.

The sessions are aimed at people aged 16 or over and last for 1 hour, or until rain stops play. Tim Marrion, Partnership Manager for Cornwall Sports Partnership said: "The emphasis of these sessions is on the fun. It's a great chance to make new friends, keep fit and generally have a great evening outside in the park."

As well as the current three sessions taking place, there will also sessions taking place in Newquay and St Austell to start in the coming weeks.

No booking is required - just turn up and play.
