Coronavirus, an update from Active Cornwall

Cornwalls Celebrating All Things Active Travel

Active Cornwall are working with National Partners to encourage and bring opportunities for schools, and for families to think about Getting Out and About using bikes, scooters, and trikes more. Linking with School Initiatives and National Campaign. We have two opportunities for schools and families to get involved in.

1 - Cornwall Council and Active Cornwall have teamed up, and are working with Modeshift Stars, who are a centre of excellence recognising and supporting cycling, walking and other forms of sustainable and active travel. This partnership is providing schools in Cornwall with the opportunity to develop and support their families to review how they travel to and from school.

Through the Modeshift Stars Education Accreditation Programme and support from Active Cornwall Officers, schools can register to work to develop a sustainable Travel Plan that supports schools to address travel issues, encourages active travel to schools, provides children with road safety awareness, and increases the physical and mental wellbeing of its pupils and families. We are hoping to encourage as many schools as possible across Cornwall to take up the opportunity, and just to boost that encouragement, Active Cornwall are providing an offer for schools, if a school registers by 28th May 2021 with Modeshift Stars Programme their school will be entered into A DRAW AND WINNING SCHOOLS WILL RECEIVE £500s WORTH OF MICRO SCOOTERS.TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THIS AND OTHER ACTIVE TRAVEL INITIATIVES, WHY NOT ATTEND ACTIVE CORNWALLS ACTIVE TRAVEL WEBINAR ON MONDAY 10TH MAY 4PM 5PM.
