Cornwall’s first sports funding fair

Cornwall’s first sports funding fair

Anyone looking to run or develop a sport and leisure related project will be able to find out how to access much-needed funding next month at Cornwall’s first ever Sports Funding Fair.

Organised by the Cornwall Sports Partnership, in collaboration with the Cornwall Rural Community Council (CRCC), the Cornwall Sports Funding Fair will be taking place in the Fal building at Truro College on Wednesday March 17 between 5pm and 8pm.

The event is free and will provide opportunities for one-to-one discussions with a whole host of funders, within an informal ‘drop-in’ environment.  Professional advice will also be shared during formal presentations from funders, which will run from 6.45pm until 8pm.

Funders attending the event include: Sport England, Big Lottery, Cornwall Community Foundation and Our Money Your Dream.

Event organiser, Natasha Howard from the Cornwall Sports Partnership, said: “There is a wealth of funding available and up for grabs to sports clubs, groups and organisations for an array of different ventures – for projects as little as £100 right up to those looking for tens of thousands of pounds.

“This event is designed specifically for anyone who has had trouble finding funds in the past, or who has never explored these routes before, to find out exactly what they could be eligible for and how to go about applying for it.”
