Free surfing courses for young people

The Wave Project Cornwall

The Wave Project is delighted to announce that it has received three years' funding from the Big Lottery to provide 100 free surfing courses a year for children and young people aged 8 to 21 in Cornwall and North Devon.

The courses last six weeks and are open to any young person who is receiving additional support from professional services, such as schools, mental health services or social services.  They are particularly beneficial for young people who are low on confidence.

The courses are fully funded by the Lottery so there is no charge to participants or referrers. Transport to and from the surf club can also be provided on request.

To refer a client, please go to the website www.waveproject.co.uk/referrals and fill in the online form. Alternatively, you can download the form and send it in the post.

Please note that parents may not refer their own children, so please make sure the referral is from a professional service.

The next course will begin in May 2013 but places do fill up quickly, so you are strognly advised to make referrals now.

If you would like to discuss a referral with The Wave Project in confidence please give them a call on 01872 261301 during normal office hours.
