Key Partners come together for the Cornwall County PE Conference

Time 2 Move

Penwith, Penisula, Mid Cornwall and Arena School Sport Networks, Cornwall Sports Partnership and the Youth Sport Trust, combined together their resources to create their first Cornwall County PE Conference.

On Wednesday 21st October 2015, the Cornwall County PE Conference at Eden saw 25 exhibitors and over 150 delegates from both Primary and Secondary Schools come together from across the county for a day of sharing best practice, celebrating achievements and supporting the development of Physical Education and Sport in Cornish schools.

The event aimed to inspire and provide the opportunity to network, through the sharing of effective practice and delivery from some exceptional practitioners within the field of education and sport. The programme has been designed in collaboration by School Sport Networks and the Youth Sport Trust, ensuring that the content for the conference is relevant and can genuinely help Primary/Secondary delegates develop and grow further in their role. The Primary element is closely aligned to both the School Games and PE premium to provide everyone with opportunities to learn and share. The conference introduced Time 2 Move, Cornwall's Framework for PE and School Sport, produced by a range of key stakeholders here in Cornwall including Head Teachers and subject specialists. Craig Handford, Development Manager for Cornwall Sports Partnership said: "The Framework promotes every child's right to a healthy and happy life, focusing on the value of PE and school sport in closing the inequalities gap, improving life chances and making a positive impact on many of the wider challenges facing schools.

Neil Eddy from Penwith School Sports Partnership said: "This is the first year that the four areas of Cornwall have joined together to have a whole county approach with both Primary and Secondary PE, providing a fantastic opportunity to network with other colleagues; which is shown by the huge uptake in conference places. It makes perfect sense!".

Official sponsors of the event AGAME Sports are already suppliers to many schools in Cornwall.

Adrian Noott from AGAME Sports said: "We are delighted to be the official sponsors of the inaugural Cornwall County PE Conference being held at the Eden Project. We've worked incredibly hard over the past few years to grow our presence within schools across the County and are delighted that a significant number of those attending are our customers. As part of our sponsorship of the event we are running a competition for a school to win a free set of rugby shirts and a coaching session with our Brand Ambassador, Jack Innard (Cornish Pirates, Exeter Chiefs and England U20s Rugby Player). Sponsoring the conference is the perfect way for us to give something back and to say thank you".  Adrian Noott, AGAME Sports
