The Liskeard Leopards have secured all the funding for their £16,000 project, to deliver rugby for young women in the communities of East Cornwall.

With the support of sported. mentor Kirsty Philpott, the Leopards have developed a project where they will take their sport to the rurally deprived communities in the East of Cornwall, and offer regular training sessions and playing opportunities. Young women that previously were unable to access rugby, due to the rural transport issues and geographic isolation, are now able to participate in regular sports opportunities.

There is also a focus on education and training within the project, with members being offered the opportunity to become trained as coaches and volunteers at the club.

Secretary of the Leopards, Ann Domaine, said " We have valued sported's openness in discussing our business plans, the practical support that they have given to us and the friendly, but very professional, way in which sported has dealt with us."
