Satellite Sports Clubs - Year 2

Applications for the next round of Satellite Sports Club funding are now being taken. The Satellite Club programme aims to support community sports clubs to start up new club sessions (outside of curriculum time) based at sites (normally, but not exclusively, schools) where 11 - 25 year olds will be able to access sporting opportunities easily. All satellite clubs are open to the wider community not just those who attend the host school.

Why a sports club may want to establish a Satellite Club -

1. They lack space to deliver more sessions at their main club venue (the hub club), but want to expand to cater for their waiting list of 11 - 25 year olds.

2. They want to grow their 11 - 25 year old membership but acknowledge that to access young people successfully; their sessions need to be delivered at venues and times to meet the needs of those young people.

3. They run a successful club and can see a gap in provision in neighbouring areas where a satellite club could be established to gain new 11- 25 year old members. The satellite club would be set up in-line with the hub club's structure and links established between the two sites as appropriate.
