Nominate a sports volunteer who deserves to be rewarded

2012 Cornwall Sports Awards

Cornwall Sports Partnership is now inviting nominations for the 2012 Cornwall Sports Awards which will be staged at the Atlantic Hotel in Newquay on Friday 9 November.

This prestigious event, staged for the first time in 2006, has been designed to recognise and honour the contributions made by dedicated sports coaches, officials, clubs, volunteers and young leaders from across the county.

Sponsored by Golf Brochures UK, the 2012 Cornwall Sports Awards are separated into four categories and incorporate 15 separate Awards, including Club of the Year, Children's Coach of the Year and Lifetime Services to Sport.

This year's ceremony at the Atlantic Hotel has been designed to build on the success of last year's event. "This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of sports, clubs, coaches and volunteers throughout the county," said Natasha Howard from the Cornwall Sports Partnership.

She continued: "Anyone can make a nomination, although clubs or individuals must be based in Cornwall.  I would also encourage people to put forward anyone they may have nominated in previous years".

Winners from the Coach Category will go through to the national UK Coaching Awards and winners from the Club and Volunteering Category will be put forward to the BBC South West Unsung Heroes Awards.

Nominate a volunteer you think deserves to be rewarded for all their hard efforts!

Nomination forms are available by clicking here - the closing date for nominations is Friday 31st August.
