Penwith College A'Level Student, Tom Holland, and College Sports Maker, Julian Wills, took to the woods of Newnham Park in the torrential rain and mud to undertake The Stinger 'Runners Revenge' event. The Penwith College pair teamed up against competitors from across the region to take on one of the most challenging duathlon events in the area, with Julian completing the running and Tom undertaking the cycling.

The race consisted of a 5k x-country run, followed by the 3k Stinger run through knee deep mud and water, then a 15k mountain bike ride, followed by another 3k Stinger run. The competitors were not helped by the constant heavy rain, which made both running and cycling extremely difficult.

The Penwith College duo, who are both sponsored by 'Velotiove', embraced the poor weather conditions, with Tom recording the fastest bike time and Julian clocking the third fastest Stinger run time. The pair eventually came in second place with an overall time of just under 1 and a 50 minutes.

Tom, who is in his first year of studying A'levels at Penwith College said "We had a fantastic race. The weather was awful, and the conditions were tough, but we dug in and achieved a great result".
