Penzance Amateur Boxing Club receive cheque from sported

Julian Wills, sported. South West Regional Manager, was delighted to present a cheque for £6,446 to Penzance Amateur Boxing Club, to help them purchase new equipment to expand opportunities for young people.

The club is based on the Treneere estate in Penzance, which ranks in the top 1% areas of income deprivation in England, and works with young people to develop discipline and respect. Penzance ABC committee received Mentor support from Alan Watson, who helped the group develop, and appreciate the importance of, a sustainable three year business and budget plan, before successfully applying for funding for the project.

Sherry Langdon, Penzance ABC Secretary, commented: "Alan's support was amazing. He has helped the club so much, working with us on business planning and budgets. We can't thank him enough for his hard work and commitment to help our club and community."

sported. funding will also be used to train young volunteers as coaches, to help create a sustainable club structure.
