£7,000 sported. cheque presented to Cornish Taekwondo Club

N.I.T.A Cornwall have been granted £7,000 from sported. to help establish 7 new taekwondo clubs in the county, to help reduce anti-social behaviour and remove barriers to sports participation for disadvantaged young people.

sported. funding has been used to purchase essential training and safety equipment to run the sessions, which will be taking place in Bodmin, St. Austell, St. Stephen, Bugle, Newquay, Redruth and Camborne.

N.I.T.A. Cornwall received Mentor support from the experienced sported Mentor Richard May, helping the group develop a sustainable three year business and budget plan, before successfully applying for funding for the project.

Julian Wills, South West Regional Manager for sported.,  said "Richard's work with the club was excellent. He offered sound advice and clear guidance to the group as they developed their dream of creating accessible sport for the most disadvantaged in the county. The new opportunities will help provide diversionary activities for young people and offer them with a safe and disciplined learning environment where they can develop."
