Coronavirus, an update from Active Cornwall

Sponsorship opportunity for motormed cycle challenge

On behalf of us all here at the Merlin Project, Cornwall's only MS Therapy Centre, I am delighted to inform you of our sponsored motormed cycle challenge for 15 of our clients who use the Motormed bike in the Physiotherapy department.

The Merlin Project aims to provide over £55,000 of subsidised therapy for people living with MS which can make such a difference to so many people living with this neurological condition in Cornwall - the incidence rate of MS in Cornwall is at double the national average, with in excess of 1,000 people diagnosed with the condition. As you may know, we receive no government funding and we are not part of the NHS. We rely totally on donations, fundraising events and income from room hire. If you would be able to support us in anyway, particularly towards sponsoring the race, then we would be most grateful to hear from you.

The race 'virtually' started from Land's End on the 27th June and will finishing in Bristol  on the 4th of August when it is hoped that a total of 360km will have been cycled - a distance far exceeding intial expectations! We have been staggered by the determination, courage and commitment of our clients to participate in this challenge as part of their Physiotherapy sessions.

On the 4TH August, during a busy and popular coffee morning being hosted here at the centre, we will have an award ceremony for participants with various awards for most progress, quickest time etc etc with opportunities for the local media to come in and share in their success.

May I thank you in advance for any support you can offer us and we look forward to hearing from you in this respect. If you would like any further information on the event please do not hesitate to contact me.
