Coronavirus, an update from Active Cornwall

Street sport for kids will be hitting central Truro

Cornwall StreetGames Festival

Later this week the centre of Truro will be flooded with young people playing a number of street sports as part of an exciting Coca-Cola festival.

Organised by the Cornwall Sports Partnership, the Cornwall StreetGames Festival will be taking place between 10am and 4pm on Friday August 10. It has been set up to give all young people, aged 12 to 16 years-old, the opportunity to take part in a variety of sports; including golf, dance, basketball, netball, football and table tennis.

A part of the weeklong Be Active Truro Festival, the StreetGames event in Truro will offer Cornish young people the opportunity to have a go at a range of taster sessions and will also culminate with competitions in those sports. It is an open event and anyone aged between 12 and 16 years-old is invited to just turn up and play at any point throughout the event.

StreetGames is a national charity that delivers sporting opportunities to young people from disadvantaged communities, and has been supported by Coca-Cola Great Britain since October 2010. The festival is one of many taking place up and down the country to coincide with the Olympics each based on the seven Olympic and Paralympic values.
