#TableTennisDay is going to be Flip-Ping! great!

Ping! Cornwall

Table Tennis Day is a day for the whole family to come together, have fun, and promote all that is great about our sport. It is a nationally co-ordinated, locally delivered, promotional day on Thursday July 16th, 2015.

Cornwall Sports Partnership will be running a number of challenges at the Walkabout Bar in Newquay involving robots and also the longest rally using a flip flop!

#tabletennisday is an initiative by Table tennis England and the main aims of the day is to celebrate the sport, current opportunities and its participants and also to raise the profile of Ping Cornwall and show its diversity and its social and informal abilities to get people more active.

Lewis Sanders, Project Coordinator for Cornwall Sports Partnership, says "Ping Cornwall is a table tennis programme to make table tennis more accessible in social and informal environments.  An event like this just epitomises Cornwall and Ping! Cornwall"

Prizes will be available throughout the event which will be taking place between 4 and 7 pm with a number of tables available for matches and also taking on the Ping! Cornwall robot.

Ping Cornwall Ambassador, David Wetherill, says "Table tennis is a sport that anyone can play and enjoy and it's great to get as many people involved as possible. Ping! Cornwall is a fantastic opportunity for the public to pick up a bat and play for free, challenge friends and even make new ones, in a social atmosphere! I'm looking forward to getting involved - what better way to in the Cornish summer with flip flops!
