The search has begun for Cornwall's grassroots football clubs, coaches, players and volunteers...

The FA and its Community Partner, McDonald's, have now announced that nominations for the annual FA Community Awards are now open!

The Awards aim to recognise and reward clubs, coaches and volunteers across the country for all the hard work they put into football at grassroots clubs.

Cornwall FA is calling on people from across the County to nominate their unsung hero for one of the seven award categories so that they can be recognised for their commitment and achievements throughout the last year.

To NOMINATE a hero visit: 

The seven award categories are:

• People's Choice Award (Outstanding Contribution to Community Football)
• The FA Charter Standard Community Club Award
• The FA Charter Standard Development Club Award
• The FA Charter Standard Club Award
• The FA Charter Standard League Award
• Volunteer of the Year Award
• Young Volunteer of the Year Award (under 25)

Nominations close on Friday 27th March 2015 and the national award winners will be announced at The FA Community Awards presented by McDonald's in August 2015 at The FA Community Shield, sponsored by McDonald's. The winners will be selected by a judging panel including legends of the game such as 1966 World Cup hat-trick hero Sir Geoff Hurst.
