Coronavirus, an update from Active Cornwall

Time is running out to make your nomination!

Cornwall Sports Awards - Thank you batons

Sport and Physical Activity would not happen in Cornwall without the dedicated volunteers who give their time each week and NOW'S the time to nominate them in the 2016 Cornwall Sports Awards as the deadline has been extended.

Closing date for nominations has been extended to Wednesday 14th September 2016, giving you an extra 7 days to reward and recognise someone who has gone above and beyond for their club.

Cornwall Sports Partnership's focus for this year's awards is to inspire Women! We are celebrating those amazing people who inspire other women and girls across Cornwall to be active.  Whether it's a Coach, volunteer, official or club member, we will reward, recognise and share their inspirational stories.

Natasha Howard from the Cornwall Sports Partnership said: "This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of sports, clubs, coaches and volunteers throughout the county."

She continued: "Following Team GBs amazing success in the Olympics we would like to continue the momentum in Cornwall.  Talented athletes like the ones we recently watched on TV started their sporting career in their local community with support from local volunteers and coaches.  This is a chance to say thank you to those people who help others achieve their dreams'

Emmie Seward-Adams from Crantock Surf Life Saving Club, who won Community Coach of the Year 2015 & Coach of the Year 2015, said: "Absolutely incredible! I feel completely honoured and indebt to those that took the time to nominate me - it means a huge amount.

Emmie Seward-Adams

A big thank you to the organisers and also to the many others out there that do so much but haven't yet been nominated.  What a fantastic evening, every year it just gets bigger and better and even more moving!

Since winning her awards in 2015, Emmie was put forward to the National Governing Body Awards and we are pleased to announce that Emmie won two National Awards, Volunteer of the Year and Service to Lifesaving Sport by Surf Life Saving GB.  Well done Emmie!
