Truro College Foundation Studies Students in Boccia Championships

A team of Foundation Studies students recently represented Truro College at this year's Cornwall County Boccia Championships, held at Cornwall College Camborne.

Students from across the county from 10 different schools and colleges battled it out down to the final which saw Truro College taking on Cape Cornwall. A closely fought game took the score level after two ends. In the final end Cape Cornwall came through as narrow winners with a 2-1 win. Truro however finishing second, now qualify to represent the county and college at the South West Championships held in Exeter on the 15th March.

The students have been regularly participating in sport and physical exercise at Truro College as part of the Health, Wellbeing and Sport programme, with College lecturer Steve Kenward working with the Health Wellbeing and Sport team to offer weekly activity sessions.

The students will continue to participate in regular physical exercise, as part of their student timetable.

Steve Kenward said "The students performed brilliantly. They all had a fantastic time, and we are looking forward to going to Exeter to represent Truro College at the Regional Championships".
