Truro & Penwith College Achieve Healthy Workplace Award
Truro and Penwith College have been recognised for providing a healthy environment for their staff to work in. The College recently were awarded the Health Promotions 'Bronze Healthy Workplace Award'.
The Healthy Workplace Awards are a three stage accreditation system that recognises good practices and procedures within working environments. To achieve the award the College has demonstrated that staff are provided with a supportive infrastructure at work, that ensures staff health and wellbeing are at the forefront of the College's considerations.
To achieve the accreditation the College provided evidence of counselling support, sustainable travel provision and healthy eating options within the establishment. They also demonstrated good practice in the way it offers free sport and physical activity to all its staff throughout the week, via the Health, Wellbeing and Sport programme.
Rebecca Smith, Personnel Assistant, said "We are delighted to achieve the Bronze Healthy Workplace Award. It clearly demonstrates that Truro and Penwith College are committed to looking after their staff's health and wellbeing."
Julian Wills, College Sports Maker, added "The Health, Wellbeing and Sport programme has been developed to ensure sport and physical activity is accessible to all at the College, which we know has provided a platform for staff to make positive decisions about their lifestyles."
