Truro & Penwith College attend Weight Management & Nutrition Talk

Weight Managment & Nutrition Talk

On Tuesday 23rd June, as part of Truro & Penwith College's National Award winning Health Wellbeing & Sport programme, members of College staff were invited to attend a talk entitled 'Weight Management and Nutrition'. Whether it be those staff already signed up on Health Wellbeing & Sports 'Weigh-to-Go' programme, or just interested employees wanting to know more on the subject, all were invited to attend.

The talk was given by Latoyah Wilcock BSc (hons) DipCNM MBANT who runs Cornwall Nutrition.  She is a qualified nutritionist with a diploma in Nutritional Therapy from the college of Naturopathic Medicine (CNM.  Latoyah is also a member of the British Association of Nutritional Therapists (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Health Council (CNHC).

Her "Inner Health, Outer Beauty" talk lasted approximately 30 minutes and covered healthy eating to reduce toxins, manage weight and aid anti-ageing.  It also included an introduction to a 30 day healthy weight management programme written by a nutritional therapist.  Attendees were able to sample certain products she had available - finishing up with a question and answer session at the end.

Health Wellbeing & Sport Staff and HE Activator for Truro & Penwith College, Lora Millward commented that all who attended took something away from the talk about how to improve skin or health by looking more closely at what you are putting into or onto your body. Hopefully it was a worthwhile hour of everyone's time.
