Coronavirus, an update from Active Cornwall

Unique Funding Opportunity Launched for Sport & Physical Activity in Cornwall!

Do you need to raise funds? We can help!

Created by Podium Partners and delivered by Cornwall Sports Partnership, this new and innovative service provides organisations working with young people or those with a disability an opportunity to ask 'the crowd' to support their project!

The main difference this offers to other Crowd Funding schemes is that projects can claim Gift Aid on all the eligible donations they receive, so for example every £100 a supporter gives is worth £125!

Five projects are involved in the launch:

• St Breward Football Club - £5,000 to purchase a new mower and storage container

• West Coast Academy - £9,000 to purchase Parkour equipment and training so they have more qualified coaches

• Cornwall Bowls Alliance - £2,000 to purchase equipment to enable children and young people the opportunity to try bowls

• Special Olympics Cornwall - £3,000 to take 38 athletes and 16 volunteers to the National Summer Games in Sheffield

• Trelissick parkrun - £3,000 to establish a new parkrun at Trelissick Gardens in Feock, Truro

All the projects are worthy of support, please go to their campaign pages to donate and join their crowd!

Natasha Howard, Funding Lead at Cornwall Sports Partnership said: "We are excited to be launching this new and innovative Crowd Funding platform that will generate more funds for the sporting community of Cornwall. By signposting groups to the available funding opportunities it will enable them to grow what they offer and ultimately increase the number of people that can get active in Cornwall".

Nicola Morris from St Breward Football Club said: "Crowdfunding appealed to us as we can reach a far wider audience than we would with other types of fundraising. It gives us the chance to include all members of the community; everyone can get involved in donating and sharing the details of our campaign. The support of Cornwall Sports Partnership and Podium Partners means we will have a good chance of reaching our target."

Now the initial projects have been launched, we are looking for more projects to work with! To find out more or further funding information please visit, or contact Natasha Howard at the Cornwall Sports Partnership on T: 01872 323344 E:
