Coronavirus, an update from Active Cornwall

Your chance to host a Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile in 2016

Sport Relief

Hosting a Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile is a great way to showcase your organisation and bringing the community into what you do. Putting on the event is pretty simple, however, there are a few things that is asked.  Your Mile needs to open to the public and must happen on Sunday 20th March 2016. You need to offer 1, 3 or 6 mile distances (these can be loops).  Essentially you'll be the person to recruit volunteers to support you, head up the logistics on the day and promote your Mile locally.
Comic Relief will kit you out with everything you'll need to deliver the Mile, and ensure it really looks the part.  You can expect from them; a webpage for your Mile on and to handle the online registrations.  A load of resources will be made available to you including a Mile Organiser's Handbook and lots of physical and digital promotional materials. In March they'll send you the infamous Box of Tricks including medals, bottles of water, start/finish banners and high-visibility vests for you and your volunteers.  In addition, they don't just leave you to it; You will have your very own dedicated contact at Comic Relief HQ throughout!

In terms of timings and next steps, Comic Relief are looking to secure something as soon as possible. By submitting your initial application, this will effectively reserve the area, and they wouldn't be holding you to anything at this stage. There is one more stage to the application process once this is reviewed, and we're away!
