Building play opportunities for all children

We’re super excited to announce that we will be officially supporting #PlayDay this year on 03 August. We want to encourage as many people to host, and for children to attend, a #PlayDay in their local area.

The event can be as small or as large as you want. In a local park, in your own garden, in a village hall, on the beach, at a school, adventure playground…. the limits are endless. Whatever your plans, the Play Day website has a full range of resources to support you.

For those providers already taking part in the Time 2 Move Holiday Programme we want you involved too! Whether you earmark the entire day, or just an hour, we want to encourage you to use this day as an opportunity to provide free play for children and their families.

Sport England’s insight, provided by the annual Active Lives survey, reveals that a key driver for children engaging with physical activity is for it to be fun. Play is the embodiment of fun. That’s why we seek to position strongly the power of play among partners in Cornwall who aim to encourage more children to be physically active.
